Taichung, Taiwan – August 2025 — Kojex Machinery Industrial Co., Ltd., a leader in precision toolholding systems, is demonstrating continued innovation with its SSC Slim Nut Chuck line—now enhanced with integrated centre coolant capabilities.

Precision Meets Performance

Kojex’s SSC Slim Nut Chuck has long been prized for its sleek design and operational advantages:

            • The shank design allows inward extension of the tool, offering superior accessibility and clearance.

            • Its slim profile features a remarkably small nut—just Ø14 mm—perfectly suited for tools smaller than 6 mm in diameter.

New Centre Coolant Integration

The latest development sets this chuck apart: a centre coolant collet integrated directly with the nut. This design not only streamlines coolant delivery but also supports demanding machining environments—its collet system is rated to withstand coolant pressures up to 80 bar.

The combination of cooling and clamping within a slim body ensures both precision and thermal management, making it ideal for high-speed or heavy cutting operations where tool temperature and stability are critical.

Built for Rigidity and Ease of Use

Kojex has long been recognized for pioneering inner-holding collet chuck designs, which eliminate the need for a separate chuck nut. This results in increased clamping force, reduced vibration, and exceptional rigidity—key requirements for modern CNC machining.

To optimize performance and consistency, Kojex recommends its fixed-bearing torque wrench for proper tightening of the SSC Slim Nut Chuck—the same tool that ensures repeatable torque and mounting accuracy.

What This Means for Manufacturers

                • Enhanced precision: The compact nut design allows for tighter tool clearance and better access in complex setups.

                • Improved cooling efficiency: Integrated centre coolant reduces thermal distortion and extends tool life during high-pressure coolant delivery.

                • Superior rigidity: The inner-holding design enhances machining stability and accuracy.

                • Reliable consistency: The torque wrench recommendation helps ensure consistent setup and performance across multiple installations.

This latest iteration of the SSC Slim Nut Chuck illustrates Kojex’s dedication to refining every aspect of toolholding, from form factor to functionality.

Looking Ahead

Manufacturers in aerospace, automotive, medical equipment, and precision engineering sectors stand to benefit from the heightened performance this toolholding system provides. While details on launch timing, availability, and pricing have not yet been disclosed, manufacturers and distributors are encouraged to contact Kojex or their local representatives for inquiries.

  • Whilst considering the purchase of a new Mazak VRX i300AWC 5 axis machining centre with 32 pallets, we looked at various options for work holding, and one option was purchasing “5th Axis” self centering vices through Grip-Tec. After viewing these vices in situ at another company, and then getting a sample sent for evaluation from Jason Short of Grip-Tec, we felt that these vices were the best marriage between the machine tool and work holding, that would best suit our production. We then proceeded to purchase 32 off V562X (5th Axis) vices supplied by Grip-Tec, which completed our machine installation. We felt that these vices gave us the security and flexibility that we require from our work holding and this also complemented our new Mazak VRX i300AWC very well. The communication with Jason and Kate from Grip-Tec was excellent and continues to be so. All promised delivery dates and quality has not only met but superseded expectations.
